Michael Strahan Reveals His Daughter Isabella Is Battling Brain Cancer

On not so far Thursday, Michael Strahan and his daughter, Isabella Strahan, spoke out with Robin Roberts and speak out that she has been battling brain cancer.

Isabella, a 19-year-old freshman at the University of Southern California, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma following an MRI scan in October.

Medulloblastoma is a cancerous and very fast-growing brain tumor that grew up in the cerebellum, the back of the brain where movement and coordination are controlled, according to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, where she is being treated.

Michael Strahan and his daughter Isabella said their decision to go public with something so delicate and personal in hopes of helping others.

This is something that is so private that I didn’t know if it would be something that she would want to share like this,” Michael told Robin.

“however her idea was, ‘I want to share it and I want to help other people,’ and that goes into the spirit of who she’s always been.”

Isabella Strahan, a model who nearly launched a campaign with Sephora, stated she didn’t want to “hide” her cancer journey.

She underwent brain surgery in late October, followed by rehabilitation and 6 weeks of radiation treatment.

Isabella will soon start a chemotherapy regimen led by doctors at Duke University, where her twin sister Sophia is a freshman. With my platform, I think to just kind of be a voice and be a person who people who maybe are going via something similar, going through chemotherapy or radiation, can look at and just hear and just watch, or discover something interesting about their day,” she said. “I’m just excited for that.”
