And now, Russell has finally shared his thoughts on Aoki’s reported connection.
As we recently reported, Russells’ and Kimoras’ daughter, Aoki, is allegedly dating a 65-year-old millionaire named Vittorio Assaf. The news sent shockwaves via social media, with numerous expressing concern and disapproval over the significant age difference between the duo.
However, Russell is unfazed by the controversy…or perhaps he’s just pretending to be down with the thought of his daughter linking up with a 65-year-old dude. Anywho, in an interview with TMZ, the Def Jam co-founder described his unconditional love and support for his daughter’s choices. He emphasized that he respects her autonomy to make her own decisions, even if they might be unconventional:
“I’m not gonna kick and scream about her choices. … All I can do is offer my advice and unconditional affection,” said Russell Simmons. Russell opened that he had earlier knowledge of the relationship before it became public, because Aoki gave him the heads up that the news was about to spread across internet. In spite of the backlash and criticism from fans, Russell remains steadfast in his role as a supportive father, offering advice and understanding to his daughter.
